RESOURCE CENTRE

Frenchs Forest Public School Resource Centre contains the library and the computing room.

The School community believes the interconnection of these two important facilities is a vital feature of a school for the 21st century. Here students learn to access information from both the library and through computer technology via the internet.

FFPS Office and Resource Centre

In the library students are given structured lessons in library procedures, locating and borrowing books through the Oasis computer terminals. Through library sessions, students are extended in their love of literature and the development of information gathering skills. Our library is conducive to learning and is also a place of relaxation where students can enjoy reading and CD Roms at lunchtime. As well as library lessons, students may borrow before school and at lunchtimes. In Term 3 and 4 chess tutorials are conducted for interest students.

In the computer room a state of the art network of high-powered computers and interactive white boards provides for whole class interaction as well as individual development in computer literacy. Networked computers are also available for student use in classrooms. Classroom computers can be used as stand alone or giving access to the world wide web from the classroom. The computer room is open on Mondays and Tuesday for lunchtime access.
