Fundraising at FFPSWe thought it may be useful for both old and new parents to give a brief explanation of the fundraising activities at the school. The aim is that fundraising does not become too much of a burden for families and that support is optional! The P&C and the school will try to ensure that events are well spaced out and are kept at an acceptable level throughout the year!
The Fair
The P&Cs main fundraising event of the year is of course the school fair. As well as being a huge fundraiser, this is also a promotional day for the school when Mr. Oakley and the teachers run tours, man a school stall and very generously help out with other events. One large part of the fair is the raffle where we hope that all families can sell as many tickets as possible to raise funds from outside of the school.
All funds raised from the Fair go into general P&C funds to be spent as decided at P&C meetings. Any ideas as to how best to use the funds are always welcomed by the P&C President.
P&C
There may be events held during the year which are organised by the P&C (or its fundraising sub-committee if one exists). These may be fundraisers or social events which no other sub-committee wishes to run such as the kids Movie Night or Disco. Funds go into general P&C funds to be spent as decided at P&C meetings.
Year 6 P&C Sub-Committee
It is a tradition that each year the students and parents of Year 6 run some fundraising within the school in order to donate a gift to the school at the end of the year. Events may include playground sausage sizzles, cake stalls, mufti days and mini fairs; could be our kids Movie Night or Disco; could be parent/children Bingo Nights or Trivia Nights; or could be outside fundraisers. The choice each year is up to the Year 6 sub-committee!
Other P&C Sub-Committees
Various events may be held during the year to raise extra funds for the canteen or Forest Kids. These events will be organised and run by these sub-committees and funds will be used to ensure the continued self-sufficiency of the sub-committee.
